What is the Royal Canin Shelter Project?
Royal Canin Shelter Project is a community of pet shelters that insist on feeding the cats and dogs in their care only the very best, which is why they use all the benefits of this programme to maximize their purchases and stretch each hard-earned Rand further. Royal Canin puts animal nutrition first by matching the precise requirements of cats and dogs to their size, age, breed and physiological condition.

More about Royal Canin
Royal Canin’s founder, Dr Jean Cathary, a French veterinarian, sought nutritional answers for improving the health and wellbeing of cats and dogs. As early as the seventies, Royal Canin started to expand outside France: first in the European markets, and then, from 1988 into North America.
Royal Canin has always been committed to a Health Nutrition approach underpinned by two major sources: Observation and Science.
Both approaches result in an in-depth knowledge of the animal, enriched by the expertise of animal professionals and caring observational science. The Royal Canin philosophy of " Animal First" and "Knowledge and Respect" are the founding principles of the brand's ethics and govern the development of every innovation.
Today, faithful to its origins in the Carmargues region (the headquarters are still based in Aimargues), Royal Canin is a renowned international company that has managed to establish itself as a major player in cat and dog Health Nutrition throughout the world.
Right since its founding, Royal Canin has been committed to an approach leading to Health Nutrition, with a view to giving the most precise and adequate nutritional answers to the specific requirements of dogs and cats. These answers rely on two clear and complementary sources: Observation and Science. Health Nutrition does result in an in-depth knowledge of the animal, enriched by the expertise of breeders and professionals, as well as by numerous works in partnership with scientists. "The Animal Comes First" and "Knowledge and Respect" are the founding principles of the brand's ethics and govern the development of every innovation.
